Why did you choose to train (or retrain) in EMDR therapy?

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, author and broadcaster, in private practice in Bedfordshire. I am also the Programme Director for the CYP IAPT therapy training at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. After a successful career in broadcasting I made the decision to retrain in psychology. I feel the focus on enabling people to tell their stories linked both careers together. Following qualification I worked for the NHS in a local CAMHS team for 11 years and specialised in child and family trauma, beginning my EMDR journey in 2005. Along with my roles on the board I am also a trustee and secretary of the BedBucksHerts regional group.

What is your favourite place on the planet?

My favourite place in the world? My mind quickly flies to Rodney Bay St Lucia for the warmth and bliss of the Caribbean sun. But if I'm honest, I love the contrasting colours of the scenery in the UK, particularly the emerald green grass meeting a vibrant blue sky, beautiful.
