Why did you choose to train (or retrain) in EMDR therapy?
I was drawn to EMDR because of its ability to access and process trauma in a way that goes beyond verbal expression. In my work with clients, particularly those with complex or longstanding trauma, I found that traditional approaches did not always enable deep processing. EMDR offered a powerful, structured yet flexible approach that could be adapted to individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Over time, it has become a game changer in my practice, allowing for deeper and more lasting therapeutic change. This led me to further develop my skills and become a Consultant, so that I could contribute to the growth of EMDR practice and support other clinicians in delivering effective trauma care.
What is your favourite place on the planet?
My favourite place on earth is the Kashmir Valley, nestled between Pakistan and India. Surrounded by beautiful green landscapes and high mountains, it offers a deep sense of freedom, peace and connection both grounding and restorative.
