Why did you choose to train (or retrain) in EMDR therapy?

I was working in the aftermath of the Dunblane shootings in 1996 and was offered the chance to train in EMDR. This was by a HAP team initially and then in using EMDR with children by Bob Tinker and Sandra Wilson. I was motivated to train on listening to colleagues speak so positively about EMDR and especially as a way of working with young children. I am now largely retired but worked throughout my career in local authority settings, with children and families, specialising in working with early years. I found EMDR invaluable with this age group. I continue to provide supervision to a number of therapists, working with children and adolescents.

What is your favourite place on the planet?

Probably Coldbackie beach on the north coast of Scotland.
