Neuro EMDR SIG
The Neuro EMDR SIG is a specialist interest group who use EMDR and knowledge from neuropsychology to work with clients with cognitive problems such as clients who have brain injury, stroke, dementia etc. the group is open to those with an interest in this area and in its early stages of being formed.
The aims of the Neuro EMDR SIG are :
- To adapt the EMDR standard protocol to help people with cognitive impairments.
- To use cognitive rehabilitation strategies and neuropsychology knowledge to inform EMDR practice with clients who have experienced TBI/FND/PCS/degenerative conditions.
- To develop EMDR guidelines to practice with different cognitive difficulties such as aphasia.
- To share knowledge and experience between practitioners in this specialist area.
- To encourage research in line with the priorities of the Association and in liaison with the Scientific Committee
