Taking EMDR And GTEP To The NHS Frontline

A Zoom presentation by Dr Amie Smith on G-TEP to treat staff with fresh trauma experiences as well as ongoing traumatic stress.

7th December 2021 – 9.30am – 10.30am
Dr Amie Smith

As the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic hit the South Tees NHS Trust hospitals in North East England, a timely, accessible and resource efficient approach to support frontline healthcare staff was essential. G-TEP (Group Traumatic Events Protocol, Shapiro 2013) offered a workable solution to treat staff with fresh trauma experiences as well as ongoing traumatic stress. As the only EMDR trained professional within the staff support team Amie worked fast to roll out multi-tiered EMDR-informed support. This included campaigns to promote organization wide stabilization and the 3P Programme (using the G-TEP) to support staff who were most in need. In this session you will hear about the implementation of this work and from the staff members themselves who have benefitted from taking part.

Cost: £25 for EMDR Association members.   £50 for non-members
