EMDR with survivors of Grooming & Sexual Exploitation – 21.11.2024

Aims

To help clinicians understand the context of grooming and exploitation and how to modify their EMDR delivery, extended preparation and target selection – based on the experience of their client.

Learning outcomes

By making clinicians aware of the huge increase in cases of grooming and sexual exploitation since the Pandemic, therapists will feell more aware of how to correctly recognise the category of grooming the client is in and the most appropriate EMDR intervention / protocol or modification.

Attendees will learn

  • The main categories of grooming
  • Vulnerability factors for children and young people at risk of being groomed
  • EMDR modifications most appropriate for the different presentations clients may present with
