The EMDR Association UK and Ireland is committed to protecting your personal information
and being transparent about the information we hold about you.
The purpose of this policy is to give you a clear explanation of how we use your personal data.

Who are we?
The EMDR Association UK and Ireland is a membership organisation for those who are trained in EMDR by a recognised trainer. Our registered charity number is 1140865. We are also registered as a company limited by guarantee in England and Wales under registration number 07428145.
How we collect information Information you give us.
When you join the EMDR Association we securely store the personal information you give us, which comprises your name, correspondence address, email address, telephone number, EMDR training level and date completed, your Child and Adolescent training level (if applicable), your main client base, your core profession, your academic professional qualifications and languages spoken. We also collect financial data to process your membership payment, which consists of your Bank Account number, sort code and bank name.
If you apply for accreditation you will supply the details above plus details of CPD completed, an anonymous list of clients validated by a consultant supervisor, a completed competency framework and a second reference.
When your accreditation application is successful you are sent a web authority form and asked to fill in the details you would like to appear on the EMDR Association Directory. When you book to attend the Association’s Annual Conference your contact details and payment are administered on our behalf by EYAS Ltd.
Information from the website
We may also use third party analytics services such as Google Analytics and other providers. These service providers help us analyse how people use our website and to identify user patterns. Authentication and tracking logs will be used to compile user statistics.
Our Communication with you
The legal basis for us processing your data is legitimate business interests and consent.
We use your contact information to communicate with you about Association matters such as Conferences, workshops, nominations for office and other Association business.
We use our legitimate organisational interest and your consent as the legal basis for communications by email.
You may object to receiving email at any time by using the contact details at the end of this policy.
In order for members to receive the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research four times a year your name and email details are passed to EMDR Europe who in turn pass this information to Springer Publications who send you the link to log in to the Journal. This information is not used for any other purpose.
Maintaining your personal information
If there are aspects of your information that are inaccurate or that you would like to
remove, you can do this by contacting us.
Any objections you make to the processing of your data will be stored so that we can comply with your request.

We will put in place safeguards, both in terms of procedures and technology, to keep your personal information secure.
