Omar Sattaur

Editor of EMDR Therapy Quarterly and member of Communications Committee

Omar Sattaur
Former Science Journalist for New Scientist Magazine and freelance contributor to national newspapers and magazines and BBC radio. I love communicating clearly about science and helping others to realise their vision about what they want to say. I hope I have brought this to my work in editing ETQ.

Why did you choose to train (or retrain) in EMDR therapy?

After spending many years travelling in Asia and writing about the role of science and technology in development I returned to living full time in the UK and retrained as a therapist. Working with torture victims, refugees and asylum seekers, for a small charity in Manchester I realised that EMDR would greatly enhance my effectiveness as a therapist - and it did.

What is your favourite place on the planet?

Bako National Park in Borneo
