London 2027 Conference Committee Recruitment
28 July, 2026
We are seeking committed members to join the Conference Committee for the EMDR Association UK 30th anniversary conference in London in 2027 and beyond. This is a voluntary working role and offers an opportunity to help shape a significant national event, contribute to the wider leadership of the Association, and create a clinically rich, inclusive and memorable conference for members.
For full information see the role description
About the role
Conference Committee membership is a voluntary role. Members will contribute to planning, decision-making and delivery, and will be expected to take responsibility for agreed areas of work between meetings.
This may include:
- Contributing to the development and review of the conference programme
- Liaising with speakers, committees, special interest groups and regional groups
- Supporting research, poster presentations and parallel conference streams
- Promoting equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility across the programme and delegate experience
- Contributing to communications, marketing and social media
- Helping plan the 30th anniversary celebration and social elements
- Supporting delegate engagement, event logistics and on-the-day delivery
- Leading or joining short-life working groups for defined pieces of work
- Completing agreed actions between meetings and reporting progress to the committee
We are particularly seeking an organised and dependable Secretary who can help the Chair and Deputy Chair keep the committee focused, accountable and moving at pace.
The committee is expected to meet approximately monthly during the main planning period, with meeting frequency likely to increase as the conference approaches.
This is an active working committee rather than an advisory group. Applicants should only express an interest if they have realistic capacity to contribute between meetings, take ownership of tasks and deliver work by agreed deadlines.
How to apply
To express an interest, or if you have an informal enquiry, please send an email d.kingston@emdrassociation.org.uk. Expressions of interest should include
- Your full CV
- A covering letter of no more than one page explaining why you would like to join the committee
- The role or portfolio that most interests you, including whether you wish to be considered for Committee Secretary
- A brief statement confirming that you have capacity to attend meetings and undertake work between meetings
- We also invite all applicants to complete the anonymous EDI questionnaire: https://forms.office.com/e/2RtHDNjTR1
Applications are particularly encouraged from members of the Global Majority and from other groups that are underrepresented in the field, including disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Deadline for applications: 1 September 2026.
