Your Accreditation Committee needs you!
The Accreditation Committee of EMDR Association UK invites applications from Senior Consultants (those of you have been supervising consultants for 5 or more years) who have also supervised and supported members to accreditation.
Our membership numbers are increasing significantly every year and, of course, with it the number of people seeking accreditation, reaccreditation and CPD credits.

About the role
We meet every two months for around 3 ½ hours, 3:00-6:30pm on the Thursday before the UK Board meeting.
Three of our meetings per year are in person, these are very valuable times when we can properly get to know each other, but meetings can be attended online.
The accreditation committee is a very practical, hands-on committee with many tasks to achieve as well as discussions and decision making. Members of the committee are expected to take on a practical task (a portfolio) which will involve ongoing work between meetings. Members undertake a variety of roles; some have taken on more than one.
- Mitigation
We have one member leading on dealing with mitigation requests; that is where a member has been unable to meet the re-accreditation requirements with in the allotted five years. - Scrutiny of applications
Several members of the committee look in detail at accreditation and re-accreditation applications prior to each meeting and record their findings ready for discussion at the meeting. It is essential that a minimum of 3 members has looked at each application - CPD
At the moment we have 3 members of the committee looking at all applications for CPD credits prior to each meeting. - Coalesce
- This is a new portfolio, and we are looking for a committee member who brings:
- Extensive experience of the full accreditation process
- A strong understanding of digital systems and how they are developed and improved

Applications are particularly encouraged from members of the Global Majority, as well as individuals from other groups that are underrepresented in the field, including people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 1 September 2026. Late applications will not be considered. After reviewing applications, the applicants will have an individual informal meeting with the co-chairs of the Accreditation Committee, Ali Russell and Kath Norgate.
